Launched in 1990, Families Journal is The Magazine for Army families. Under the editorial control of the Army Families Federation's appointed editor, each issue incorporates news, advice, general features, and lifestyle articles for all members of the Army family.

Published quarterly, its UK and overseas distribution amounts to over 50,000 copies making it the highest circulation magazine for Service families. Over half the print run is mailed direct to Army households.
